Businessman Rauf surrenders

Malappuram, Feb 12 : Controversial businessman K A Rauf today surrendered before the police in Malappuram district of Kerala in a bribery case.

Police said Rauf, also the estranged brother-in-law of State Industries P K Kunhalikutty, surrendered before the Malappuram Circle Inspector's office in connection with a case relating to trap Deputy Superintendent of Police Abhilash, who was probing a case against the former.

He was later released on bail after recording his statement, they added.

Rauf was in the news in the recent past for his controversial statement that his one time mentor Kunhalikutty had influenced judiciary to get a clean chit in the sensational ice cream parlour case of 1990s.
