Chandrasekharan murder: Witness fails to identify 'assassin'

Kozhikode, Feb 12 : One of the witnesess in the sensational murder of Revolutionary Marxist Party Leader T P Chandrasekharan today failed to identify a member of the squad of assassins here today.

Fifth witness T P Ramesh was unable to recognise Kodi Suni, one of the prime suspects in the May 4, 2012 murder when the trial resumed in a Special Court at Erahippalam in the city.

However, he had identified the other members of the gang-- Kirmani Manoj, S Sajith, K K Muhammed Shafi, T K Rajeesh, M C Anoop and K Shinoj.

In the identification parade conducted in the presence of Special Additional Session's Judge R Narayana Pisharoty, another witness Maneesh identified all the seven accused in the case.

The third witness, K K Praseeth, while deposing before the court, had yesterday identified all the accused allegedly involved in the crime.

The court had directed to produce the impounded Innova car used by the assassins for the brutal murder, tomorrow.

Chandrasekharan, who floated the RMP alongwith others after their expulsion from the parent party, was waylaid and assassinated by the car borne assailants while he was returning home on his motorbike at Vallikkode near Vatakara in the district.
