Nizamabad (Andhra Pradesh), Feb 12 : The IInd Additional Judicial First Class Magistrate court today extended the judicial remand of Majilis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) Legislator Akbaruddin Owaisi till February 26 in the hate speech case.
Magistrate N Amaravathi passed the orders to this effect after Mr Owaisi was produced in the court from Adilabad District Jail amidst tight security.
Earlier, the court, while extending the judicial remand till today on February 7, directed the police to present Mr Owaisi in the court for recording his voice test.
Accordingly, the voice sample was recorded under the supervision of APFSL experts and in the presence of Magistrate for about five minutes and it was also videotaped.
The exercise is to facilitate matching of his voice with that on videotapes of the hate speech under which the legislator is an accused.
