Bangalore, Feb 12 : New Companies Bill will usher in an era of greater transparency in Corporate Governance, experts attending a conference here today said.
Delivering inaugural address at the "Conference on New Companies Bill-Paradigm Shift for Corporate India", organised by ASSOCHAM and Bangalore Chapter of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India, Prof R Venkata Rao, Vice Chancellor, National Law School of India University said the legislation would bring fresh ideas in corporate governance.
He described the Companies Bill as one of the most awaited and important pieces of legislation.
Prof Rao said the new legislation has introduced several new provisions aimed at bringing greater transparency in the functioning of corporate sector with focus on protection of investor interests.
