Dhar, MP, Feb 12 : Amid tight security, Hindus in large numbers today performed their regular worship at historical Bhojshala.

Over 1,000 police personnel were deployed to ensure peaceful passage of today's worship.

Deputy Inspector General of Police Praveen Kumar Mathur, Collector CB Singh and Superintendent of Police Sushant Saxena were present.

The district administration removed fencing that had been put up earlier to regulate crowd at the disputed structure last night.

Tension prevailed at Bhojshala in Dhar district on Tuesday last week after activists of Hindu Jagran Manch and Bhoj Utsav Samiti tried to remove fencing put up by the district administration at the disputed structure.

Hindus perform prayers at the disputed structure every Tuesday while Muslims offer 'namaz' every Friday.

On Basant Panchami, Hindus are allowed to perform worship at Bhojshala for the whole day. However, the festival is falling on February 15 this year which is a Friday.

Certain organisations have demanded that they be allowed to offer prayers at the temple for the whole day on Basant Panchami.
