Kanpur, Feb 12 : A local court today rejected the application of Deputy Superintendent of Police Amarjeet Sahi seeking discharge in the much publicised physical exploitation case of the city.

The Special Judge SC/ST Act court rejected the application moved by Sahi under section 227 of the Criminal Procedure Code, seeking quashing of the charges.

He pleaded that the case was fabricated by the accused who had lodged two FIRs against him.

The prosecution countered his claim pleading that there was sufficient evidence against him on record. The girl was a minor when he had made an obscene MMS of her with which he used to blackmail her.

The presiding judge in his order observed that prima facie sufficient grounds existed against the accused.

DySP Amarjeet Sahi was arrested by the police on April 18, 2012 when the victim had charged him with making an obscene MMS and exploiting her physically since past couple of years.
