New Delhi, Feb 12 : The Supreme Court today issued notices to Congress MP Naveen Jindal and Delhi Police on a petition filed by Zee news for quashing of an FIR registered against two of its editors involved in alleged extortion.
A bench headed by Chief Justice of India Altamas Kabir issued notices after hearing counsel for the petitioner company who contended that the CD of the alleged sting operation is doctored and fake and FIR registered against Zee news editor Sudhir Choudhary and Business Editor Sameer Ahluwalia who were shown in the sting operation demanding Rs 100 crore from the Congress MP for favourable reporting in Coalgate scam is liable to be quashed.
The two journalists were arrested by Delhi police after seeing the sting operation CD.
The investigation in the case was started on the basis of the CD.
