Haflong, Feb 12 : DoNER Minister Paban Singh Ghatowar has expressed unhappiness with the slow pace of construction of work of the two National projects - Lumding-Silchar BG conversion and East West Corridor - through Assam's Dima Hasao district.

He said he would approach the ministries concerned with the request to expedite construction works.

Mr Ghatowar was addressing mediapersons at Haflong yesterday after a review meeting held in presence of Dima Hasao Autonomous Council Chief Executive Member Debojeet Thaosen.

The review meeting was held on the progress of the ongoing projects provided by the DoNER ministry in the district of Dima Hasao.

As many as eight projects at the cost of Rs 44 crore are going on, two of which have already been completed.

The Union minister, while understanding the problems in executing the projects, also instructed the departmental heads to expedite the works and approach for the pending fund and submit the utilization certificates.

He said for the all round development of a district like Dima Hasao, the DoNER Ministry is always ready to support but the work should be done unitedly and no community living in the district should be discriminated in any developmental activities.

Appreciating the Chief Executive Member and his team of Executive Members, Mr Ghatowar said, 'I am sure enough that this team of Executive Members led by Mr Thaosen would not leave any stone unturned for the development of the district and it people.'
