Collusive understanding still exists between CPM-Congress:Mamata
Khejuri (East Midnapore) Feb 12 : Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said a collusive understanding between CPM, Congress and a section of electronic media is responsible for creating political unrest in the state.
Addressing a public meeting at Tekhali near here, she said a section of the press wants Urban Land Ceiling Act to be withdrawn and the ongoing probe into the Wakf Property be discontinued. Moreover, the CPM after being banished from power by the electorate are trying to create political instability.
"But that is not to be," Ms Banerjee thundered.
Not mentioning today's incident in Gardenreach in Kolkata in which a police official was gunned down, the Chief Minister said the CPM and the Congress were trying to destroy democracy in the state.
"Democracy does not mean hooliganism or gun tottering. It means a way of life to which the TMC is wedded to," she said.
Coming down heavily on the Congress, she said the UPA government in Delhi has turned a deaf ear to the woes of Khejuri and Nandigram people where as the TMC was fighting out CPM assault here.
"Congress had a tacit understanding with the CPM at that time. The people of this state should remember that the same collusive understanding still exists between the two parties. They are shameless people. They cannot deliver the goods." she said.
The CM said even after paying 26000 crores of rupees each month to the central government for loans taken by the previous Left Front Government her government had implemented a lot of developmental scheme for economically backward people including schedule castes, schedule tribe, OBC and minority groups in the state.
