'Hurt' Navy SEAL who killed bin Laden jobless, separated, abandoned by government
Washington, Feb. 12 : The Navy SEAL who shot down three bullets in the head of Osama bin Laden is jobless, separated from his wife and believes he's been abandoned by his government, according to a new report.
According to an exclusive story for Esquire by the Center for Investigative Reporting, the TEAM SIX member is angry as he is waiting for disability benefits from the Department of Veterans Affairs.
He said that after quitting just three years short of retirement, he has no health care or pension, Fox News reports.
The unnamed SEAL told author Phil Bronstein last September that the 'health care for him and his family stopped at midnight Friday night after he left SEALs.
The SEAL told Bronstein, executive chairman of the Center for Investigative Reporting 'they told him that he was out of the service, and that his coverage was over. Thanks for your sixteen years. Go f--- yourself.'
He said that six months after leaving the military, because 'he wanted to see his children graduate and get married,' he is physically and psychologically wrecked, the report said.
He left the military a few years short of retirement eligibility and now has no job and is not qualified for a pension, and is awaiting a VA disability ruling for neck, back and eye injuries, it added.
