Kerala's Kasarkod emerges beach football champions in Goa

Panaji, Feb 11: Kasarkod Kerala emerged champions defeating Goa United sports by 8-4 and pocketed a cash prize award of Rs 75,000 and coveted trophy in the finals of the first ever All India beach soccer football tournament whichconcluded at Calangute beach in north Goa last night.

The tournament was organised by TransStadia and supported by Goa government, Goa Football Development Council and Beach Soccer Worldwide (BSWW).

Goa United had to be content with runners-up trophy and cash prize award of Rs 50,000.

Mahamood K, and Mohammad Shahid of Kasarkod Kerala were adjudged as the player of the tournament and the best goalkeeper respectively.

Both were awarded trophies for their fine performance. Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar was the chief guest for the finals.
