New Delhi, Feb 10 : Condoling the death of pilgrims in a stampede in Allahabad railway station Sunday, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh told central ministries to extend all possible help to Uttar Pradesh government in relief operations, officials said.
"I send my heartfelt condolences to the members of the bereaved families and wish those injured a speedy recovery," said the prime minister's office in a Twitter message.
"The prime minister directs central government departments to extend all possible help to Uttar Pradesh government in relief operations," it said.
According to the message, the prime minister instructed the railway ministry to provide all possible assistance to the state government in its relief operations.
Four people were killed and over a dozen injured when the railing of a foot overbridge at the railway station collapsed Sunday evening due to rush of passengers for the Kumbh Mela.
