Raje takes charge as Rajasthan BJP president
Jaipur, Feb 9 : Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje took charge as state Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president on Friday and said if the party remained united then all difficulties would 'go away'.
Large number of party workers had assembled at the party's state office here to welcome the leader.
Addressing party workers, Raje gave a new slogan- "Ekjoot BhaJaPa, Congress lapata" (BJP united, Congress disappears).
"An organisation without workers is like a fish without water. If we are together and united then our difficulties will go away," Raje said while addressing party workers.
"Like in 2003, we need to stay united. We need to work together. My priority would be to take everyone along with me like a family,'' she said.
BJP leaders like Ramdas Agrawal and Om Mathur were present at the event.
BJP president Rajnath Singh last week said Raje has been appointed as the BJP's chief ministerial candidate and the new president of the party's Rajasthan unit.
The decision came following a meeting of the top brass of the BJP in New Delhi where they agreed to choose Raje for the job.
Raje, who was the Chief Minister of Rajasthan from 2003 to 2008, had lost in the last state elections to Congress party's Ashok Gehlot.
