FIR registered against VHP leader Praveen Togadia
Nanded, Feb 8 : Bhokar town police of Nanded district last night registered an FIR against firebrand VHP leader Praveen Togadia for his alleged hate speech in the district last month.
According to PI Pandit Munde of the Bhokar police station, Mr Togadia was booked under section 295 (A) and 505 (A) of IPC for making a provocative speech against a particular community in the district during his visit to attend the 'Hindu Hitchintan Sammelan' at Bhokar on January 22.
Yesterday, the Union Home Ministry asked the Maharashtra government to initiate appropriate action against the VHP leader for making the provocative speech.
As per the Union Government order, the Congress government in the state ordered the forensic examination of Mr Togadia's hate speech and is now waiting for a detailed report to be able to register a case for inciting communal hatred against him.
