Kozhikode, Feb 8 : Concerted efforts were made to scuttle the ice cream parlour sex scam of 1990s if the fresh revelations on the issue were any indication, the Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) in Kerala today said.

Talking to reporters here, Kerala unit BJP President V Muraleedharan said this was evident from the case diary obtained by Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan on a court order that Industries Minister P K Kunhalikutty and his brother-in-law K A Rauf attempted to sabotage the case.

He said Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and his Home Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishan had claimed that scientific probe was held in the case, it was proven as per the case diary that attempts were made to protect the accused.

It would be appropriate for Mr Chandy to come out with an explanation for the information of the people whether it was Mr Kunhalikutty of Mr Radhakrishan who directed the police to close the case.
