London, Feb 8 : A choir director at a music school in Britain and his ex-wife have been convicted of indecently assaulting a former girl student when she was 14.
BBC said 68-year-old Michael Brewer of Birmingham carried out the offences at Chetham's School of Music and his Manchester home between 1978 and 1982.
The jury at the Manchester Crown Court is still deliberating on charges of rape of the same victim when she was aged 18. His then-wife is charged with aiding and abetting the rape.
Brewer and ex-wife, Hilary, 67, denied all charges.
Hilary Brewer was convicted of indecently assaulting the same girl when she was an adult at their then family home.
The prosecution said that in the early 1990s, the teacher was forced to resign from the school after an inappropriate relationship with a 16-year-old girl.
Brewer also directed the World Youth Choir and worked on the BBC's Last Choir Standing programme.
