Kolkata, Feb 8 : Dream run for qualifier Bhuvana Kalva of Andhra Pradesh continued as she move into the final of the Ladies singles after beating Treta Bhattacharya (7) 6-2, 3-6, 6-1 at Central Excise Open AITA Grass Court Tennis Championship here on Friday.
Kalva grabbed the opening set with two breaks of serve in less than 40 minutes. Bhattacharya in the second set was trailing by 2-3, from where she pulled her game three folds and won 4 consecutive games, to win the set and level the match.
In the decider, Kalva seemed to outplay the local hope, as the former took a 5-0 lead, where Bhattacharya pulled a game in her favour, making it 1-5.
Here Kalva gave no opportunities to the only remaining representative from Bengal, as Kalva closed the match by winning the decider 6-1.
Kalva faces top seed Natasha Palha from Goa, in the final.
In Men's section, top seed from Maharashtra, Nitten Kirrtane outclassed 7th seeded Ronak Manuja in a close 6-7(5), 6-2, 6-1.
Kirrtane will face 5th seed from Tamil Nadu, Jayaprakash Mohit Mayur in the title clash.
Top seeds in Ladies' doubles, Treta Bhattacharya and Natasha Palha, won the crown in straight sets, against Amrita Mukherjee and Bhuvana Kalva, by 6-4, 6-4.
