Amethi is my home, family: Rahul Gandhi
Amethi, Feb 7 : Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Thursday reached Amethi in Uttar Pradesh for two-day visit to his parliamentary constituency.
Addressing a gathering, Gandhi said: "I have to travel in the entire country but whenever I visit Amethi it feels like I have come home...Amethi is my family. I feel extremely happy when I come here."
This is Gandhi's first visit to his parliamentary constituency after taking charge as the vice-president of the party.
He is likely to hold a meeting with party workers and office bearers on Friday, reports said.
Earlier this week, Gandhi's visit to Amethi was postponed due to bad weather.
Gandhi was made the vice-president of the 128-year-old party last month.
The decision was taken following a meeting of the Congress Working Committee (CWC) at the end of the party's two-day brainstorming conclave "Chintan Shivir" held in Jaipur last month.
