Centre isolating common man: Basudeb Acharia
Kannur, Kerala Feb 6 : CPI(M) Parliamentary Party leader and CITU national vice-president Basudeb Acharia today alleged that Congress-led UPA Government is gradually withdrawing from its responsibility towards the farmers, working people, common man and middle class people who comprise around 95 per cent of the population and at the same time spent huge amount on corporates as subsidies.
Mr Acharia said this while inaugurating the first triennial All India-conference of All Indian BSNL DOT Pensioners Association (AIBOPA) held at Navaneetham Auditorium here today.
He claimed the government has withdrawn from responsibility not only in the case of social security but also the source of life by implementing the neo-liberal economic policy by Congress and UPA Government since 1991.
He said the entire farmers and working class of the country have been struggling for rights along with trade unions and federations of BSNL, LIC and Banking sector against the wrong polices implemented by the UPA Government.
"Sothe pensioners are also doing their part in the struggle because they are also part of the society," Mr Acharya.
He called upon the AIBOPA to organize itself under an umbrella along with the other pensioners union.
