New Delhi, Feb 6 : The first half of the 2013-14 budget session of parliament will begin Feb 21 and end March 22 and Finance Minister P. Chidambaram will present the budget Feb 28, an official said Wednesday.
President Pranab Mukherjee will address a joint sitting of both houses of parliament Feb 21.
The session, which will go on for around seven weeks, will have a recess from March 23 and it will reconvene from April 22 till May 10, the official sources said. During the break, the parliamentary standing committees will discuss the demands for grants of various ministries.
Railway Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal will present his first Railway Budget Feb 26. The Economic Survey will be tabled Feb 27.
The Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs finalised the duration of the budget session last week.
