Chennai, Feb 4 : DMK President and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi today said his party as well as his Tamil Eelam Supporters Organisation (TESO) will continue to launch agitations if the Centre does not need to their demand and prevent Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapakse from visiting India.
Talking to newspersons after a meeting of TESO he said, 'We have been repeatedly putting up this demand, you tell me what more can we do'.
When asked about Defence Minister A K Antony's statement that India would continue to provide training to Sri Lankan army personnel even as TESO leaders took up the Lankan government's attacks against the Tamils there during the Eelam War 4 in 2009, he said 'we don't accept Mr Antony's statement. If the resolutions passed by TESO meet are not accepted and the dilution of Tamil areas in Lanka and the training for Lankan army personnel goes, we will launch agitations definitely.'
He said, 'in the agitation to be staged by TESO on February 8, DMK Treasurer M K Stalin and all TESO members would head the agitation.
'This is your imagination. If that actually happens we will oppose it', Mr Karunanidhi said when asked about the possibility of other UN members voting against the resolution to be moved by the United States of America against the Human Rights violation against Tamils in Lanka if President Rajapakse is permitted to visit India by the Centre.
