Abdul Kalam asks 'CARE' hospital to activate at least 20 PHCs
Hyderabad, Feb 4 : Former President APJ Abdul Kalam today asked CARE Hospitals to activate at least 20 Primary Health Centres nearby its hospital to serve the society and it will be remembered by the needy.
Speaking after inaugurating the 'CARE Outpatient Centre', India's largest integrated out-patient centre here, Dr Kalam said, "We have about 23,000 and more Primary Health Centres in small towns and villages. Many of them are not very active due to lack of expertise and infrastructure'.
"When I see you all friends from CARE, I realize CARE Hospitals are spread in many states and removing the pain of thousands and thousands of patients. Is it possible for CARE Hospitals to dynamically activate at least 20 PHCs that are close to CARE Hospitals at different places? I am sure, this service to the society will be remembered by the needy," he said.
Providing affordable health care to everyone is an important concern throughout the world. In the total chain of medical care, the multi-speciality hospital was an important system, Dr Kalam said and added Planning and execution of such user friendly hospitals for the 21st century taking into account the needs of the future and systematically expand the facilities require timely management of many aspects. The key to success was creative leadership at various levels, he added.
