Youth awarded 10 yrs imprisonment for raping woman
Bangalore, Feb 4 : A 21-year-old youth was today sentenced to 10 years imprisonment by a Fast track Court for raping a lonely woman after kidnapping her at Uttarahalli village in Subramanyapura Police station limit on January 20 last year.
Suresh had attacked the victim's father Kariyappa who came to rescue his daughter. Later he dragged her about two km into a under-construction building and raped her before fleeing from the scene.
Besides this, Judge Dhardwarkar also slaped a fine of Rs 20,000, ten-year imprisonment for attempt to murder, five-year imprisonment for kidnap and Rs 5,000 fine.
The sentence will be run concurrently.
