Cassidian develops two products from Indian centre
Bangalore, Feb 4 : Global Security solutions and systems provider Cassidian has churned out two products from its Indian engineering Centre for both local and global market.
The products, a structurally integrated Antenna (SIA) and a high accuracy air pressure measurement system (HAAPMS) marked a milestone in Cassidian's strategy to increase its industrial presence in India, Peter Gutsmiedl, CEO of Cassidian India told newspersons here today.
He said the Indian centre of excellence was also developing some more products in avionics and health monitoring segments that should be ready by next year.
He said from engineering to prototype, both SIA and HAAPMS had the Made in India stamp on them and this augured well for the company which had chosen India as its base outside Europe for a long haul. He said Indian engineers would also be helping the company in shaping its products for local requirements.
SIA was a pioneering concept to reduce the aerodynamic drag and radar cross section of military aircraft with additional advantage of reduced maintenance of the antenna system.
This concept allowed integration of different types of antennas ranging from communication applications to electronic warfare and radar applications. This mature technology could now allow an air vehicle to be completely free from protruding antennae.
