Pune, Feb 4 : A technical manager of the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) was arrested here for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.22,000, a CBI official said.
"A case was registered against a manager of NHAI, Pune, for demanding a bribe of Rs.25,000 from the complainant, who is a developer. He alleged that the accused demanded the bribe for issuing a no-objection certificate for three plots of land near the national highway in Satara district in Maharashtra," the official said.
"The CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) laid a trap and the accused was caught while accepting the bribe from the complainant in Pune," the official said.
