Over 50s take more wild holidays
London, Feb 4 : Holidaymakers, who are over the age of 50, are becoming increasingly reckless and putting themselves at risk, by taking daring holidays, according to study.
In a study by insurer Staysure, a third of the 1,000 Britons over the age of 50 who were polled said they take more risks now than in their youth, the Daily Express reported.
The study also found that travelling as much as possible is a top priority for the silver set.
According to Staysure chief executive Ryan Howsam, the '50 above age group' holidays are about visiting far-flung destinations and engaging in daring experiences to get the most out of their trips abroad.
A fifth of those questioned said they often find themselves in dangerous situations on holiday. Going on safari, trekking and visiting undeveloped regions feature highly in the plans of older holidaymakers.
On the other hand, many admitted not locking away valuables, eating dodgy food and failing to get proper insurance cover.
