Kozhikode, Feb 3 : The Indian Union Muslim league in Kerala today said it will prepare the party machinery for the 2014 general election in the country.
Briefing reporters after a day long working committee meet, senior leader ET Mohammed Basheer, MP and General Secretary K P A Majeed said as part of plan the party would hold rallies throughout the state soon.
On the recent spat between the Congress and the majority community outfit Nair Service Society over key position in the government to the latter, they said it would not affect the ruling United Democratic Front.
The party wanted to maintain cordial relations with all in the society.
Taking a soft stand for its demand for aided status for 33 schools in the Malabar region, majority of them in Malappuram district, they said it intended to provide job security to the staff in such institutions.
To carry forward environmental projects initiated by the party, the meet had set up eight task force headed by vice president Kutty Ahammed Kutty and assisted by 34 executive committee members, they added.
Senior leaders P K Kunhalikutty, also the state Industries Minister, PMA Salaam, among others, attended the meet presided over by President Panakkad Syed Mohammedali Shihab Thangal.
