Kerala to take on K'taka in summit clash in National deaf tourney
Hyderabad, Feb 2 : It will be a summit clash between Kerala and Karnataka in the National Deaf Twenty20 Cricket Championship.
In two crushing performances both teams put paid to the aspirations of their respective semifinal rivals at Gymkhana Ground here today.
In the first match, Kerala drubbed host Andhra Pradesh by 43 runs while Karnataka dealt a 72-run humiliation on Tamil Nadu in the other match.
Batting first, Kerala, thanks to a 50 by Md Suhail, made 116 for the loss of eight wickets. An inspired spell by Shoukath (3 for seven) had Andhra Pradesh in knots and was packed off for 73 runs.
Karnataka players clicked like a team while posting a handsome 154 for the loss of seven wickets in their stipulated overs. Later, a magnificent five for 17 by B P Dayananda, was too hot to handle for Tamil Nadu batsmen who perished for a pitiable 82.
