Kolkata, Feb 2 : The duo of Vikash Kandoi and Sudipta Goswami won the Kolkata leg, which formed the second event of the Audi quattro Cup 2013 season, and qualified for the National final here on Saturday.
In the qualifying round held at the Royal Calcutta Golf Club, Vikas and Sudipta combined to score 40 stableford points to emerge as the winners.
The multi-city event is presented by Audi Finance while Turkish Airlines is the associate partner and Millionnaire Asia is the Official magazine partner.
The pair of Amit Daga and Vikas Agarwal finished runners-up with a total of 37 points while the team of Rohan Ghosh and Avinash Agarwala ended up third with 35 points.
A wild card entry was also picked during the prize presentation where the team of Laxman Singh Agastya and Sandeep Poddar emerged as the lucky winners. However they have to await the scores of 12 other teams to secure a National final berth.
Hosted by Audi Kolkata, the one-day event saw Kolkata's leading corporate czars trying to earn the coveted place in the final.
In the various skills competition held alongside the main event, Joydeep Mukherjee won the "Longest Drive" prize on Hole No. 15 and emerged as the proud winner of the Audi Experience where he gets to use a chauffeur-driven Audi A6 on the weekend.
Rajesh Poddar won the "Straightest Drive" award on Hole No. 5 while Mohit Agarwal emerged as the winner in the "Closest to Pin" contest on Hole No.13
The Audi quattro Cup tournament series, established in 1991, has become one of the most celebrated amateur golf tournaments in the world bringing together over 85000 golfers from 54 countries.
The Indian circuit of Audi quattro Cup will visit 12 other cities making it a 13-leg series and would touch almost 1300 golfers in all.
Audi Chennai will host the next leg at the Madras Gymkhana Club Feb 9.
