BSE Sensex tumbles on panic
Mumbai, Feb 1 : The BSE Sensex fell 0.57 percent on Friday after blue chip stocks slumped triggering fresh concern.
The 30-share benchmark index ended 113.79 points lower at 19,781.19 with 18 of its components closing in the red.
The broader 50-share National Stock Exchange (NSE) Nifty index ended 0.59 percent or 35.85 points lower at 5,998.90 on Thursday.
A sudden slump in key stocks Tata Motors and Ultractech Cement towards the end of the session sparked panic triggering a wider slide.
Meanwhile in the New Delhi bullion market, gold tumbled by Rs 225 to Rs 30,820 per 10 grams while silver dropped by Rs 230 to Rs 58,750 per kg.
