Pakistan: 22 killed in suicide blast
Hangu, Feb 1 : At least 22 people were killed when a suicide bomber blew himself up outside a mosque at Hangu town in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Friday, reports said.
Several others were injured in the blast.
The suicide bomber blew himself up when people were coming out of the mosque in Pat Bazaar after Friday prayers, Pakistan media reported quoting police.
District Police officer (DPO) Muhammed Saeed said the bomb was placed at one of the exists of the mosque, which led to a crowded market.
"It was a suicide attack which targeted Shias but Sunni Muslims also fell victim since their mosque and some shops were also very close to the site," Saeed told Dawn.
"We have found the head of the bomber, who came there on a motorbike," he said.
No group has claimed responsibility of the blast so far.
