Sangareddy court rejects Owaisi's bail plea in 2005 case

Medak, Jan 30 : The Sangareddy court in the district today rejected the bail plea of MIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi in a 2005 case against him of insulting and obstructing a government official from discharging his duties.

The Excise and Prohibition Court rejected the bail plea of Akbaruddin, who is currently lodged in Adilabad district jail in

connection with 'hate speech'case after he was produced before the court for hearing on his bail petition filed a few days and it was posted today.

Akbaruddin, his brother and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi and other accused had a heated argument with Medak district collector A K Singhal and other officers in 2005 incident, as they protested demolition of a mosque near Patancheru for highway widening. The collector was allegedly pushed.

However, in hate speech case at Nizamabad district, a local court here district granted the police two-day custody from February 1 of Akbaruddin.

Akbaruddin is facing hate speech cases at Nirmal in Adilabad district, Nizamabad, Hyderabad and other parts of Andhra Pradesh.

Owaisi was arrested on January 8 for making a hate speech at a public meeting at Nirmal town in Adilabad district on December 22 and the next day, a court in Nirmal town sent him to judicial custody for two weeks.
