Mangalore, Jan 30 : Three girls who were enjoying their ice cream in a parlour in this port city were questioned by the police after Durga Vahini, a right wing organisation connected to Bajarang Dal complained of the alleged 'immoral activities' taking place at an ice-cream parlour.
Police said they took the girls for an enquiry after
members of Durga Vahini informed them suspecting that the trio were indulging in 'immoral activities' at the ice-cream parlour.
The city had hit the headlines recently when the vigilante groups had attacked youth enjoying a birththday party in a home stay on the outskirts of the city late last year.
"After the enquiry, we found nothing and we left them to their respective homes," Assistant Commissioner of Police (Mangalore South) T R Jagannath said.
Members of Durga Vahini had objected to two of the girls smoking at the ice-cream parlour, he said.
