Hyderabad, Jan 30 : Fourteen people were killed and five injured in three different road accidents in the past 24 hours.
According to police, six people were killed, five of them on the spot when a car in which they were traveling collided head-on with a lorry at Penugonda in Ananthapur district late last night.
The car was proceeding to Penukonda from Ananthapur when the mishap occurred.
While five people including a woman killed on the spot another succumbed to his injuries at a local a hospital.
In another incident, six people were killed, three of them on the spot and five others injured when an auto rickshaw in which they were travelling collided with a lorry at Chinnarao Pet in Warangal District late last night.
The auto was proceeding to Chinnarao Pet from Varddanapet for worship a temple when the incident occurred.
While three of them killed on the spot while others succumbed to their injuries at MGM Hopital, police said.
In another incident, two people were killed on the spot when their two wheeler collided with a school van at Pykapuram in Nellore district today, police said.
