Jaipur, Jan 30 : Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot sought support from the International Finance Corporation (IFC) for solving water related problems being faced in the state.
Mr Gehlot sought the help from IFC-a key member of the World Bank Group-,during a meeting with its delegation here today.
The delegation led by the corporation CEO Jin-Yong Cai and Vice President(Asia-Pacific) Karin Finkelston met the Chief Minister at his residence here.
In the discussion, Mr Gehlot said IFC should lend its support and expertise to us in conducting detailed studies specifically for water management,its conservation and rain water harvesting with the assistance of the best experts from the world.
He said IFC should help in finding a long term solution through study aiming at affordable solution for the problems, particularly in Jodhpur where people face problem of rising water level.
The Chief Minister also sought more investment by the world body in various upcoming mega projects.
The IFC authorities also briefed the Chief Minister on steps/ initiatives being taken by the corporation in various sectors/ projects in the state.
Industries Minister Rajendra Pareek and high officials of Industries, Finance and other departments concerned also participated in the discussion.
