Constable commits suicide in Uttarakhand Raj Bhawan
Dehradun, Jan 30 : A PAC constable has allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself in the head in Uttarakhand Raj Bhawan premises, police sources said today.
Soon after joining duty, Kamal Mehra of 46 PAC battalion fired two rounds, one in the air and another on his temple last evening. Mehra was rushed to hospital where he breathed his last.
Mehra, who has been described as emotional and introvert by his colleagues, had been suspended in September last year for being drunk on duty and his case was still under investigation. A bunch of letters has been found in his pockets, sources said.
Describing the incident as ''unfortunate'', the Raj Bhawan sources said investigations were on in the matter.
