VGCb to start operations of green coal handling terminal at Vizag port
Hyderabad, Jan 30 : Vizag General Cargo Berth Private Limited
(VGCB), a 74:26 joint venture between Sterlite Industries (India)
Limited and Leighton Welspun Contractors Private Limited has obtained provisional permission to start commercial operations of
its first fully automated green coal handling terminal at Vishakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh) in India.
The project has been implemented at a total cost of US 150 million dollars and would commence operations in the current quarter, according to a release here.
With the commencement of operations at VGCB, Sterlite makes a successful entry into the beleaguered sector.
