5 Maoists along with arms nabbed in Palamu
Daltonganj, Jan 30 : Police have today arrested five maoists along with arms and ammunition from Guriadamar village under Lesligunj police station area of the naxal hit Palamu district.
Additional Superintendent of Police Apurva said that the ultras were earlier working with the proscribed CPI(Maoist), however, they were expelled from the naxal outfit for collecting levy.
Afterwards the arrested used to collect levy in name of different naxal outfits including the PLFI and JJMP.
"The arrest was made with the help of villagers," Mr Apurva said adding that the maoists had gone to collect levy from a contractor who was over seeing the construction of a bridge in Guriadamar village. "The police surrounded the maoists along with the villagers and forced them to surrender," he said.
Ishwari Oraon was the kingpin of the gang while its another members included Viond Oraon, Vikas Yadav, Chatu Bhuiyan and Chandan Paswan, he said.
Five 315 bore Bandook, two 12 bore Bandook, one carbine, a 9mm revolver (all country made), 38 live cartridges, letter pads along with uniforms have been recovered from them, the SP said.
