Coal Minister ignorant of J'khand politics- Subodhkant
Jamshedpur, Jan 30 : In an apparent attempt at 'damage control', former Union tourism minister and senior Congress leader Subodhkant Sahay today issued a warning of sorts to his earlier ministerial colleague and current Union Coal Minister Shri Prakash Jaiswal saying he was 'ignorant' about the political realities of Jharkhand.
He was reacting to Mr Jaiswal statements yesterday in
Ranchi
that the Congress party was not interested in informing the government in Jharkhand as it did not want to send the wrong signal to the people of the state and had it been so it would have done it soon after the fall of the Arjun Munda government.
He had also termed the current President's rule as good for
the state.
His statement sparked a fresh war of words in political
circles with the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha indicating that it might
rally behind former ally BJP in calling for a permanent dissolution of the state assembly, which was currently under suspended animation.
Talking to newspersons here, Mr Sahay said, "Jaiswal has no
understanding of Jharkhand politics. He should not have issued a
statement like that."
The decision of formation or non-formation of a government
would be taken by the party high command," he indicated.
Mr Sahay, a Lok Sabha MP from Ranchi, also recalled the statement of state Congress president Pradeep Balmuchu that the possibility of government formation was being explored and JMM should show patience.
The state Congress, however, appeared divided over the issue as many of the AICC members, including some party MLAs from the state, had already expressed their open resentment towards any attempt to form a government with JMM.
