New Delhi, Jan 31 : Information and broadcasting minister Manish Tiwari has said that the Cinematograph Act needed to be revisited.
The announcement comes amidst the hue and cry over Tamil superstar Kamal Hassan's film Vishwaroopam film being banned in Tamil Nadu by the state government.
"Time Cinematograph Act revisited to ensure implementational integrity certification decisions Otherwise each state would be it's own censor (sic)," Tewari wrote on micro-blogging site Twitter on Thursday.
Reacting to this, a report quoted censor board chairperson Leela Samson as saying: "If the government comes up with this, it is the best news I have heard in a long time."
