Sutapa Joti on her journey to Antarctica
Kolkata, Jan 30 : Sutapa Joti, an Architect and South Eastern Railway employee, started for Antarctica tour in November last year representing herself as the lone Indian tourist.
She arrived at Ushuaia, the southernmost city in the world at southern end point of Argentina, by air at early November 2012 and reported to the organiser of this trip.
In the ice breaker ship M/s Expedition they had travelled Neko harbour, Deception, Danco and some more islands of the Antractica peninsula.
Her experience in this permafrost continent has been exchanged with the viewers at the slide show programme arranged at Paschim Banga Bangla Academi Savaghar on last evening.
Mr Amarendra Chakraborty, Chief Editor of "Bhraman" the famous travel magazine, has inaugurated a 'DVD' on this spectacular journey and he also narrated his own experience about such a courageous tour.
Mr Ratanlal Biswas, the renowned trekker and traveller was also present in the meet along with a large number of distinguished guests.
Ms Sayantani Nag, poet and colleague of archilect has well co-ordinated the programme.
