Gangtok, Jan 30 : Chief Minister Pawan Chamling tabled white paper on earthjquake and three private members' business resolution were adopted in House during the daylong Sikkim Legislative Assembly session today.
The session began with the obituary references on passing away of HH Lachen Gomchen Rimpoche, former Member, Sikkim Legislative Assembly, Kedar Nath Sahani, former Governor of Sikkim and I K Gujral, former Prime Minister by the Speaker and the Chief Minister Mr Pawan Chamling.
The House then adopted three Private Member's Business, Resolution. First was moved by moved by Ms Tulsi Devi Rai, Member on 'Seeking reservation of seats for Limboo-Tamang Tribal Communities in the State Legislative Assembly of Sikkim' which was seconded by member, Mr Madan Cintury.
Another Resolution moved by Member Ugen T Gyatso Bhutia on 'Seeking equality among all Sikkimese Communities in categorisation of Scheduled Tribes Status' was seconded by the member Mr P L Subba.
The third was moved by Mr Tenzi Sherpa, seeking protection of the Sikkim Companies Act, 1961' which was seconded by the member T W Lepcha.
Mr Chamling laid a copy of the white paper on the high-intensity earthquake of September 18, 2011 in Sikkim, copy of the Report of Public Service Commission for the year April, 2009 to March 31, 2010 and a copy of the Annual Report of Sikkim Commission for Backward Classes for the year 2009-2012. Later, the House was adjourned sine-die by the Speaker SLA.
