Bhubaneswar, Jan 30 : The Odisha government has set a target to complete all the infrastructural work of the new Terminal building in Biju Patnaik Air Port by February 15.
Odisha Chief Secretary Bijay Kumar Patnaik who reviewed the progress of the airport relating to completion of road leading to Airport has instructed the respective departments to complete all the infrastructural works by February 7 and set a target to give a finishing touch to all necessary amenities by February 15 next.
The meeting discussed in detail the internal road to old terminal building, construction of pavements, shifting of electric poles, lightning of roads towards Airport, installation of transformer and sub-station, installation of the statue of former Chief Minister Biju Patnaik, laying of underground pipe for 24 hours water supply, landscaping and beautification.
The review revealed that all these works are on full swing and will be completed in scheduled time. The matters relating to earlier steps taken for checking bird and dog menace, disposal of garbage, deployment of traffic police, shifting of slaughter houses from the vicinity of Airport, closing of ponds also figured in the meeting.
The Chief Secretary has asked Special Secretary GA and the heads of respective departments check of the progress through field visit and take necessary steps for expedited completion of the left out works.
Official sources said the inauguration of this new terminal will be a high step towards upgrading Bhubaneswar to an International airport.
