4 of family attempt suicide, couple dies
Rajkot, Jan 30 : Owing to financial crisis, four members of a family attempted to commit suicide allegedly by consuming poison at their residence in New Shakti Society, near Market yard, here late last night.
The victims were shifted to civil hospital, where the couple were declared dead this morning.
The deceased were identified as Himat Rangani, a businessman, and his wife Bharti (45).
While their two sons, Nikhil (18) and Nayan (16), are battling for life, police said.
A suicide note recovered from the house stated that the family had decided to end their lives by consuming poison because it was unable to repay borrowed money of about Rs 15 lakh, they added.
