UPA Govt to lose next general elections: Naidu
Panaji, Jan 30 : In a scathing attack on UPA government at the Centre, BJP national leader Venkaiah Naidu today said that there is an anti-Congress wave across the country. It will gain momentum that will eventually lead to people voting against the ruling government and for BJP in next general elections, he further said.
Speaking to mediapersons here on the sidelines of the concluding day function of 'Jana Sampark Abhiyan of BJP' in Goa, Mr Naidu said that no Congress leader, young or old, will be able to save the party as the Union government is fast losing the popularity.
He said as and when elections will be held, the Congress will lose and the BJP will win.
Taking a swipe at Union Home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde, Mr Naidu said that he accused the RSS and BJP of promoting terrorism at their training camps.
He further said that government had failed to protect Army jawans at the border when they were beheaded by Pakistan troops. He further said the Congress has ruined the economy of the country, and in every section of society, there is unhappiness due to widespread corruption and scams, he alleged.
Asked about the probable prime ministerial candidate for the 2014 elections, Mr Naidu said that his party will discuss the issue and then make public the name of its prime ministerial candidate at the appropriate time.
On Narendra Modi, the BJP leader said Mr Modi was voted back as Chief Minister of Gujarat because he has character and capacity to rule.
He also said that the ruling Karnataka government will complete its tenure.
Mr Naidu blamed the previous (Congress) government for cessation of mining in Goa and accepted that the ban on mining has disturbed the state economy.
The issue of mining should be resolved by both the centre and state governments, he added.
