Aussies confident skipper Clarke will be fit for Windies ODI series
Sydney, Jan. 30 : Australian paceman Clint McKay is confident the team's wounded captain will be ready for battle when the ODI series against the West Indies begins on Friday at the WACA Ground.
Skipper Michael Clarke missed the fifth ODI against Sri Lanka after rolling his ankle at training on the day before the game, reports News.com.au.
McKay said he was confident Clarke would be fit to return for Friday's game. He said
Clarke is looking as "fit as ever".
Australia's battle with Sri Lanka ended on a sour note as the visitors took a 2-0 sweep in the Twenty20 Internationals to follow the 2-2 result in the preceding ODI series.
McKay said this week's series against the West Indies loomed as an opportunity to make amends.
McKay said West Indies is a great cricket team and a very dangerous one in the short formats. He added that it is a big game for them and one that they are looking forward to after the Sri Lanka series.
