Viswaroopam cleared, all set for release in TN
Chennai, Jan 29 : Clearing the decks, The Madras High Court tonight allowed release of Kamal Hassan's controversial film 'Viswaroopam' from tomorrow
In a move which was seen as a victory for the actor, the court observed that there were no objectionable scenes against the muslims in the film
The court also observed that the state government has no powers to ban a film which was certified by the censaor board. The court also lifted the ban imposed by the state government on promulgating prohibitory orders in the districts from screenilng the film
When the matter filed by Rajkamal Films International, the production house of the actor challenging the two-week ban imposed by the Tamil Nadu Government came up for hearing, Mr Justice K Venkataraman said the government was free to file an appeal against the order
Minutes after the high court order, fans of the actor celebrted with burstingm of crackers.
