Jaya's steps to boost Siddha wing

Chennai, Jan 29 : Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa today announced setting up Siddha wing in ten ESI dispensaries and Ayurveda, Homeopathy and Unani wings in ESI Hospitals in the state

An official statement here said a Siddha wing, offering treatment under the traditional siddha medicine, has been functioning in ESI hospitals

In a bid to extend this facility to dispensaries, the Chief Minister announced that siddha wing would be set up in ten ESI dispensaries

The facility would come up in ESI dispensaries at Triplicane, Avadi, Korattur,Ambur, Ranipettai, Dindigul, Thirunagar, Tirupur-I, Udumalapet and Kaattur-I

She also announced creation of 20 new posts, including doctors, in these facilities, and allocated Rs 1.36 crore for this purpose

The Chief Minister also announced setting up of Ayurveda wings at ESI hospitals in Sivakasi, Tiruchi, Salem, Vellore and Hosur

She also announced creation of ten new posts and allocated Rs 67.56 lakh for this purpose

Ms Jayalalithaa also said Homeopathy Wing would be set up at ESI hospitals in Coimbatore and Madurai and allocated Rs 25.56 lakh for this

Similarly, Unani Wings would also be started at ESI hospitals in Coimbatore and Madurai, the release said, adding, the Chief Minister has sanctioned Rs 25.56 lakh for the purpose
