Madhya Pradesh Govt to fund seer's memorial
Bhopal, Jan 29 : Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today announced that the regime would provide land and funds for constructing a memorial of seer Sen Maharaj at his birthplace Bandhavgarh in Umaria District
"The teachings and spiritual literature of the seer will be published. A proposal will be forwarded to the Centre urging it to enlist the Sen community as a scheduled caste," he said while addressing the Kesh Shilpi Panchayat organised here by the Urban Administration and Development Department in order to have a dialogue with Sen community members, as per an official release
The Chief Minister announced several facilities for Sen community members traditionally engaged in hair-cutting
Places would be specified for hairdressers in urban and rural areas. Hairdressers would be imparted training in modern techniques while women belonging to the community would also be encouraged to receive formal training as beauticians
The Government would facilitate self-employment loans for the community's youth. Financial assistance would also be ensured for loans from Rs 50,000 and above. Bank guarantee, loan subsidy and margin money would also be given to loan-seekers
Hairdressers' families would be covered under the Deendayal Antyodaya Upchar Yojna and State Illness Fund
Their children would be given scholarship from class I. Loan guarantee would also be extended for higher studies
Coverage under Janshree insurance scheme would be available
