New Delhi, Jan 29 : The Supreme Court today refused to entertain a petition seeking transfer of trial in Delhi gangrape case out of the national capital
A bench headed by Chief Justice Altamas Kabir made it clear that Delhi gangrape case cannot be transferred to any other state
Mr M L Sharma, counsel for one of the accused, contended that in view of agitation, media pressure and statements issued by several judges, fair trial is not possible in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. In his petition he had made an exception saying that he has no objection if the trial is shifted to Mathura
''The trial in the case is yet to start and therefore allegations of bias against the judiciary in Delhi are premature and unfounded,'' the court observed.
